WHAT A WIN - WELL DONE LADIES

Our Ladies, Lesley Goodman, June Cripps and Anna Spuls competed in the Benevolent Cup Competition at Sandy on Sunday 10th August. It was a tough day as they had to play 3 games of 15 ends each, comprising of a Quarter, Semi and Final. The Semi against Barton was very close with an extra end needing to be played. The Final was nail bitingly close with both Fairfield and our Ladies  tying on 10 points  after 14 ends. It was Fairfield's mat and they put in a long jack (not a favourite place for our ladies!). Fairfield were holding with two bowls, it was down to Anna on her last wood... what a shot! She held her nerve and drew in nicely onto the jack to win the competition. All the ladies played well and the club are very proud of their great performance. It should also be noted that we retained the cup that one of our ladies teams won last year.

                 POTTEN END GALA - 9th August 2025

Lovely weather and a very enjoyable day spent at Potten End on Saturday. We had three teams entered and are pleased to say that one of our teams came into some prize money. Peter and Kay Hudgell, Brian Barfoot and a last minute entry of Sally Large (due to Verity Barfoot being unwell) came in third winning 3 out of the 4 games.

The day was organised extremely well and I believe everyone entering has a great time. We will definitely be sending a team next year, well done Potten End Bowls Club.
